What are the benefits of a 20ft shipping container?
No other structure designed for transportation is as indestructible as a 20ft shipping container.
A shipping container is capable to withstand hurricanes* and other natural disasters.
*One Tiny House Container has gone through a direct hit by a hurricane and two tropical storms without damage.

Do you modify any 40ft shipping containers?
No, we are specialized in 20ft shipping containers.
20ft shipping containers can be transported easily with a 3/4 ton pick-up truck (like an F250 or Dodge 2500) or a U-Haul truck.

How many different models do you offer for sale?
We currently offer three models:
The Weekender: Studio with kitchenette. Bathroom.
Guestroom: Queen size bedroom. Bathroom.
Pop-Up Shop: Display room. Storage room.

What type of vehicle do I need to pull a Tiny House Container?
Any vehicle rated to pull 10,000 pounds works: I.e. Ford F250, GMC/Chevrolet 2500, Dodge 2500
A 15ft or 17ft U-Haul truck will pull it if you do not have an own truck available. Enterprise Truck Rental offers a F250 (3/4ton) that is also rated to pull a Tiny House Container.

Is the Tiny House Container on a trailer permanently?
No. The Tiny House Container can be moved on and off the trailer as needed. 

Can one place a Tiny House Container on the ground?
Yes, but we recommend to keep it at least 12 inches off the ground.
We are more than happy to set it up for you. 
Please note: Placing it directly on the ground will void the 12-month warranty.

Do you offer insurance?
Yes. We work with an insurance company specialized in Tiny Houses.

Is a Tiny House Container off-grid capable?
Yes, a Tiny House Container is designed to hook up to off-grid water and electric.

Can one live in a Tiny House Container permanently?
The current Tiny House Container models are three seasons and for recreational purposes.
They are not designed for temperatures below freezing.

Is a Tiny House Container certified?
The shipping container itself is certified, the modifications we perform are not certified. 

What are the zoning requirements for tiny houses?
Zoning requirements in the USA vary from no-restrictions to prohibited. 
We are happy to work with you to find solutions.

How long does it take to build a Tiny House Container?
Depending on the model and modifications, 1 – 5 months.

What are the electrical capabilities of a Tiny House Container?
Tiny House Container are wired similar to the electrical codes for a bedroom and a bathroom in a regular house.

What is the difference between a Sunrise and Sunset version?
Standing outside looking at the big container doors, the Sunrise version has the French Door on the left side, the Sunset has them on the right side.

What is the price of a Tiny House Container?
From $17,550 (Build-Assist) to $66,560 (Turn-Key including all available options)

Do you rent or lease Tiny House Containers?
We intend to offer those options in the future. 

What is the difference between a new and a display Tiny House Container?
A new Tiny House Container is built once ordered.
A display Tiny House Container is pre-build either out of new parts or refurbished parts. Display models offer significant cost savings.

Do you offer any warranties?
A Tiny House Container includes a 12-month warranty and service plan.

Can I modify my Tiny House Container after purchase?
Absolutely. It’s a tiny space and you certainly would want to optimize it. A Tiny House Container is build modular therefore adding, changing and removing items is very simple.

Can I modify a Tiny House Container during purchase?
Several options are available before construction begins. 
During construction the modifications will be limited.

Do you require a deposit to place an order?
Yes. A $100 refundable pre-order deposit is required to receive an accurate quote and to start the order process.

How difficult is it to setup a Tiny House Container?
Not difficult: We will discuss or even visit your site during the order process.

How difficult is it to take a Tiny House Container off a trailer?
Not difficult: We will deliver and setup your Tiny House Container.
If you elect to purchase a Tiny House Container with a trailer we will thoroughly discuss the procedure to lift it on and off.

Is a special trailer required for a Tiny House Container?
No. Shipping containers can be transported in a variety of ways. However, we recommend a trailer that is specifically designed to carry a 20ft container. We have them available for purchase.

Do you offer a Tiny House Container with a composting or chemical, electric toilet?
No. We offer something better than that.
All Tiny House Containers come with a regular dual flush European style wall hung toilet. 

How much water does a Tiny House Container use?
A Tiny House Container is designed for on and off-grid.
Water usage can be adjusted by the user accordingly.

How much electricity does a Tiny House Container use?
A Tiny House Container is designed for on and off-grid.
Electrical usage can be adjusted by the user accordingly.

Do you offer a solar system?
We intend to offer a solar system and battery bank in the near future.
We are happy to assist you with setting up your own system based on a system we currently use ourselves. 

Is a Tiny House Container insulated?
Yes. However a Tiny House Container is not designed for sustained temperatures below freezing.

Do you recommend to purchase or rent land first?
Yes, we recommend to purchase or rent the land before construction begins.

What are the differences between a wooden tiny house and a Tiny House Container?
A Tiny House Container is structurally more than 7 times stronger than a wooden tiny house.
A Tiny House Container comes with a spacious bathroom including a large corner shower and a flushing toilet.
A Tiny House Container can be placed on and off a trailer as needed.
A Tiny House Container has three doors. The bathroom has its own outside access.
A Tiny House Container can easily be inspected for mold and critters.
There are many other differences.
We highly recommend to compare both by looking at them in person.

How do I winterize a Tiny House Container?
The water lines are designed to be drained quickly. Only common tools are required.

How many square feet is a Tiny House Container?
One Tiny House Container is 160sf.

Do I need a roof on top of a Tiny House Container?
No. The shipping containers are completely sealed.

How can I utilize the roof space?
A Tiny House Container comes with an optional roof frame.
Use it as a base for solar panels, green roof or a roof deck.
We will add roof options in the near future.

Can I transport an ATV or a motorcycle inside?
Yes. There is enough space and some of the original tie down rings are available.  

Can I change the outside color of a Tiny House Container?
No. We recommend to change the trim colors instead of the container color.

Can I change the outside trim color of a Tiny House Container?
Yes. All shutters and awnings can be removed easily. 
We have three colors available, dark green, midnight blue and Bordeaux red. 

How do I inspect a Tiny House Container for water and critter damage?
The inside bottom trim is designed to be removed to conduct water and critter damage inspections.

The doors in an RV and camper are are always on the passenger (right) side, does that matter in a Tiny House Container?
No. During the order process we will discuss your setup at your property and recommend either the Sunrise or Sunset version.

Can one put a Tiny House Container on a permanent foundation?
Yes, absolutely.

Is a Tiny House Containers hurricane and tornado proof?
The shipping container itself is designed for severe storms.
Doors, Windows, and other openings might leak under extreme conditions.
We are happy to do an inspection. Inspections are included in the 12-month warranty and service plan. 

How strong are shipping containers?
Extremely strong: A 20ft shipping container can hold around 60,000 pounds of cargo.
On a container ship they are typically stacked 6 -7 high.

Do you need a special permit to transport a Tiny House Container?
No special permits are required.

What if I won’t be able to use my Tiny House Container for several months?
No problem, open up, air out for 5 minutes, ready to use.

What about anmials, critters, bugs getting into a Tiny House Container?
There are very limited opportunities for critters to crawl in. 
A Tiny House Container allows for an easy inspection. Inspections are included in the 12-month warranty and service plan.

Can I leave a Tiny House Container on the trailer?
Yes. 

What about moisture inside?
In any small space moisture is an issue. 
We incorporated several features in the Tiny House Container to combat moisture issues.

The shipping container appears to have some rusty scratches and minor dents, could that be a potential problem?
No. Inevitably there will be some surface rust which can be contained easily. However, all Tiny House Containers are build out of one-trip containers and are structurally sound. We also inspect all containers before we purchase them.

Is it difficult to clean a Tiny House Container?
No.
Dry: Open all doors, take a broom and sweep for 2 minutes. 
Wet: Mop floor for 5 minutes. Leave all doors up to air out.

What is the roof frame for?
Use it as foundation for solar panels, green roof or a roof deck.
We will add roof options in the near future.

Can I connect a Tiny House Container to an existing septic tank?
Yes, we are happy to hook it up during the initial setup. 

How do I connect a Tiny Hose Container to a water line?
Connect a regular garden hose and a splitter to the hook ups.
We are happy to hook it up during the initial setup.

What kind of electrical cable do I need to connect a Tiny House Container to an existing house?
The Tiny House Container is designed for several options including a regular outdoor extension cord.

Do you have models with smaller bathrooms available?
No. All Bathrooms come in one size.

Do you offer any built in cabinets?
Not at the moment. We recommend regular cabinets, chest drawers to optimize your space.
A good place to start is of course IKEA.
A Tiny House Container has built in provisions to secure freestanding equipment during use and also during transportation.

What size A/C do I need?
We will recommend an appropriate size during the order process.
The size depends mainly on how much electricity you have available at your location.

Does it matter how I setup a Tiny House Container at my location?
Yes. We will make some recommendations during the order process.

I am planning to relocate my tiny house every three months, would a Tiny House Container be suitable?
Yes, that works well if you leave the Tiny House Container on a trailer.

How do the costs for a Tiny House Container compare with a wooden tiny house?
We recommend to compare both type of structures by looking at them in person.

Can I take a Tiny House Container to a camping ground?
Check with the camping ground, but as long as a Tiny House Container is on a trailer you should be fine.
A Tiny House Container comes with hook up provisions.

How can I tie-down equipment for transportation?
Several of the original tie down rings are available.

If I have a Guestroom version, can I add a kitchenette later?
Yes, we can retrofit your Tiny House Container. 

What if I have issues with my French Door after a severe storm?
We offer a 12-month warranty on a Tiny House Container.
We also offer a service plan.

Is a Tiny House Container wheelchair accessible?
Our standard Tiny House Container is wheelchair accessible through the big container doors.
However, the standard interior is not designed to accommodate any type of physical disabilities.
We are happy to look into modifications on an individual basis.

What type of building materials do you use?
We use common building materials.

What if I want to move my Tiny House Container to better location on my property?
It’s all about the best setup when it comes to a tiny house. We are more than happy to assist.

I want to sell my Tiny House Container, do you do inspections?
Yes, we offer inspections and a buy-back program.

Do you offer a service plan?
Yes, we offer a service plan. 

Can I save some money by painting the interior myself?
Yes. We offer a Build-Assist program which holds considerable savings.
